Final blog

I think that learning English at university are not too much different of the school, we apply this language talking between us, reading text and write them, but the use of blogs is new to me, explain the things with my point of view, is interesting this new way to learn / practice English and watch how my classmates explain of them point of view.

A thing that I need to be improved Is how I can talk in English with more fluency, understanding all of the words that I going to use, and in the same time learn to hear the thing that the people says. I can improve this watching series or movies in English, but with subtitles in English (to know how the words are written) as little help to me to understand words than I don’t knew. And with words than are strange to me, only search in internet what is and how can I use that, I think that is all with that.

In these days, I’m not using the English regularly but every day I try to read posts or texts in English, because if I don’t do that I’m going to lose the habit, so I think that is good idea follow with something related with the things than we do (the blogs).

And learn English in a Non-English speaking country I think than is not totally good, because the people than learn English, they are not thinking the things in English, they are thinking the words or the meaning of the things in Spanish and that is a very big problem, because if you think that the people than speak in English (a good English) they think in English, because is the best way to relate the thoughts with what you want to say, so changing that i think than the English will be more understandable.

Changes

The most urgent thing that the university needs to change is the faculty facilities about the buildings and how the university take care about them because in the time that I stayed in the FAU I saw that in some classrooms the windows are not working that these should work, so in winter or summer, the weather in to the classrooms are very cold or very hot, and another thing related with that is the condition of the air-conditioning equipment, sometimes are working or sometime not.

In other theme, the teaching methods I think that are not bad but the university can make better that, adding classes with more relation with the environment of the city and explaining how we can relate that with the works that we need to do (I’m talking about workshop), and in the other subjects, I think than the teachers need to do more than present a PowerPoint presentation and read that to the class, personally I hate that classes because I feel that the students are not included in the class, only the teacher and words in a PC are in the class, so I improve that.

And in the use of technology, I believe than if the university starts to make classes to learn about programs, related with our career, the students could be more interested in the career and I’m very sure of that, because in the university a lots of students are using their computers to work in things of the different subjects, so if we have the knowledge of the programs, the way to make the works will be more easy.

Concerts with friends

I enjoy to go to the concerts, but i enjoyed more go to the concerts with my friends. I remember some concerts, for example: the first time when FLOW comes to Chile, FLOW is an a japenese rock/pop band and i went to this concert with two friends, Julian and Daniel. With Julian i went to other concerts also, to Ghost, or Queen or Maximum The Hormone or once of the best than i went: The Punk Rock Festival in 2016 (that was not the best punck rock, but the feeling to see bands like Misfits or Non Servium are very exciting to me), we went to the concert with other friends too, Bryan and Cesar, and i really hope that can happen again, the four of us could go to another concert.

To the Ghost concert, Julian bought to me the ticket, because we are great friends and i showed him the band, so is a kind of reward to me about the thing that i did. In 2018, we planned (with Julian) go to the concert of Foo Fighters together and to others. Someday i'm going to buy tickets to him, to concerts of bands than we like.

Oh, and another kind of concerts (like underground bars) I'm almost ready to go with Bryan to see a band of Pirate Metal called Alestorm. Is a great band but i can remember all the songs, so i need to hear them again to be ready for the concert.

Concerts and fun

I think that the best concert I attended was one that Iron Maiden, Slayer and Ghost on the same day showed up, almost 4 years ago when I was still in middle school. I went to see Iron Maiden on that occasion only, but I already knew something about Slayer and Ghost, it was a totally new band, so nobody in the concert knew them very well. 

I went to that concert with my brother and I was really excited that time, because Iron Maiden was doing a tour playing his classic songs (between 1980 and 1990) and I was impressed when they played my favorite songs like '' Run to the hills' 'or' 'The Evil that man do' '. Although I've been to other Iron Maiden concerts before, I remember that as the best of all. 

I have also gone to others with friends, the last one was one of MAXIMUM THE HORMONE, they play extreme metal and although they look bad they are very warm with their audience and they make songs that talk about political and social issues.

2015 Holidays

I had really good holidays in the summer of 2015, when I went to the south to Villarrica. I stayed there for a week but I really enjoyed all the time that i passed in the place.

I went there with my cousin Anita and her husband (included her sons) and with my sister. When we were there, I thought that the only thing we could do would be to visit the town or look around of that, but we did another things like eat delicious food in restaurants and go to hot springs.

 In the hot springs happened something that i never watched before, just like the rain while we were in the pools of the hot springs or the grass than grows up on the roof of the houses, that is amazing because the grass grow up in that places, only where are clean air. And the best about the travel to me was the relax that I got there and how otrher places can affect in the body and mind, to get rest of the city.

I think that in the university, that don’t need changes in the program, if not I think that we need more things to teach or different ways to learn about the things. For example, in workshop I think that the teachers would teach us about the materials to make the mock-ups, what paperboard are not expensive, how the materials work when we use them, things like that. Also how we can distribute our time on the week, to work calmly, and another thing is than all the subjects been related with themselves, so we can apply the thing that we learn in one class to another classes.

And in the university, I have thought that the structure of the buildings can be better, or the organization of the university would be more efficient, because they say than ‘’oh, we warn that’’, but put a page of 20 x 20 cm of large is not warn about things very important, just like when we need to take the subjects, or when the scholarships is announced, or where are the classes (I’m talking about the classrooms), then if the university changes these things and use the new technologies how they need to do it, the things will be different and more easy for the students or teachers in the university, so that is all (please, some worker of the university read this haha)

Architecture postgraduate

I think that postgraduate has some good things to us, for example, more opportunities to give us work or be more expert in a theme. I would like to study a subject called: Residential habitat in contexts of social vulnerability, because if i think in the first thing that made me choose this career them are the things related with the social structures and how we can make better these situations.

I would like study this postgraduate in Chile, in the Universidad de Chile, but also I want to study in the Universidad de Barcelona, a postgraduate called bioclimatic architecture, because the future of the world is using another energies or materials to build the buildings and I would like to learn about other kind of architecture, how is the Spanish or European, I can make travels between the countries, so I should take advantage of that.

I would like study in the same country or place where I am, because if a study in the computer I think it will distract me in my works or with the things that I will read and if also can take a part-time curse I will take it, because I can study and work in the same day or when I have classes.

And an advice: try to talk with people who lives or travel to others countries to make investigations or o learn about other countries, they can help you with the things than the universities are specialized ;)
